Empowerment Through Education (ETE)
The Alliance for Rural Community Health (ARCH) is currently accepting applications from persons seeking to advance or enhance their career in the health field. The awards range from $1,000 to $4,000 per semester. Eligible applicants for the Empowerment through Education (ETE) Scholarship Program include those who belong to a minority ethnic group, including our communityıs large Latino and Native American populations, and who are pursing a career in healthcare. Scholarship funding can be used to help cover the costs of tuition, books and supplies, child care, transportation, or other costs associated with education.
Although priority will be given to current health center employees to advance their careers in the health professions, scholarships are also available to community members interested in pursuing health careers in ARCH member health centers.
The ETE Scholarship Program is funded by a grant from The California Wellness Foundation (TCWF). Created in 1992 as an independent, private foundation, TCWF's mission is to improve the health of the people of California by making grants for health promotion, wellness education, and disease prevention programs.
To date, a total of 48 scholarships have been awarded, in the amount of $120,200. Scholarships have been awarded to 23 current employees of our local community health centers and 9 Mendocino County community members.
