About ARCH
Background and History
Alliance for Rural Community Health (ARCH) was founded by Mendocino County's six community health centers in 1998; it was originally incorporated as Community Health Services of Mendocino County.
It's purpose, then as now, is to develop and expand collaborative ways of addressing community health care issues in a cost-effective and efficient manner. At 11 clinic sites, ARCH members serve patients in Mendocino and Lake Counties. They provide services to over 37,000 residents, or approximately 43% of our populations.
ARCH members provide primary health services including medical care, dental care and counseling/behavioral health services. Four of the health centers serve as the sole providers of care in their communities.
Special problems encountered in this rural area include areas of low population density, isolation of communities by rugged geography, lack of adequate county-wide communications infrastructure and marginal support from county governments.
Vision
The community health centers represent the best practice model healthcare delivery system for our communities.
Mission
To improve the health of our communities by strengthening and supporting the efforts of our members to provide access to quality health care for all.
Strategic Goals
1. Increase the capability of our members to improve health outcomes of the patients they serve.
2. Improve the operational health and stability of health center members.
3. Provide leadership in building relationships to strengthen the local system of quality health care.
4. Advocate for our community health centers at the local, state and national levels.
